IMDG CARGOES

When cargoes falling within the scope of the IMDG Code are transported through Port of Rauma, the following notification procedure is to be complied with:

ADVANCE NOTICE

An advance notice shall be submitted for all shipments governed by the IMDG Code that arrive in the port of Rauma. The advance notice is to be submitted at least 24 hours before the goods arrive in the port area. 

ADVANCE INQUIRY 

STORAGE AND DIRECT DISPATCH OBLIGATION

Units labelled hazardous may not be stored anywhere else on the port field areas or inside the port warehouses than on the Pikisaari IMO field or in the IMO spot of the import terminal (warehouse 4). 

The regulated separation distances must be observed in the port area. However, the provisions of the appendix do not need to be applied in the separation of cargo transport units containing limited quantities of dangerous goods, if safety is otherwise taken care of.

The following substances must be delivered out of the port area without delay:

1) Class 1 explosives, excluding 1.4 S explosives;

2) Class 6.2 infectious substances;

3) Class 7 radioactive substances, with the exception of substances belonging to UN 2908–2911.

However, substances of class 6.2 can be temporarily stored in the port area, if it is safe, it does not cause any danger and the Port of Rauma has given his consent.
